Since the time of writing S2DNT has rebranded to be Toptask – the same great platform just with a shiny new name.

Have you ever needed things doing and just not had the time? Or had something to plan and no idea where to start? Wanted help with something and not known where to turn? Well that’s where S2DNT comes in.

A Great Way of Getting Jobs Done - Introducing S2DNT

The Easy Way to Collect Money – Leetchi

*This is a collaborative post

Have you ever had to organise a collection at work? For a leaving gift or a night out? Or maybe you’ve been in charge of collecting money for a hen weekend or a Birthday bash for a friend? Whatever it is, I know from experience that it turns into a nightmare.

Some people pay by Paypal or Paym, some want to do a bank transfer and some give you cash. Then, once you have all the money what do you do with it? You have to keep records of everything so it doesn’t get swallowed up with your bills and grocery shopping and it’s just such a big responsibility handling money that isn’t really yours.

This is where Leetchi comes in. Leetchi is a new website that does all the hard work for you. You can use it to collect money for literally anything, personalise it to suit your needs and invite friends to donate to your Leetchi money pot, ready to spend however you need to – on gifts, a night out or a weekend away.

Starting to use Kidslox – a Parental Control App

LP and Little Man have been using tablets for a couple of years now – Little Man has pretty much always had tablets in his life. But, we have always been strict on the amount of time they can use them for but sometimes you forget what time they started playing or worry that they’re accessing the wrong things. This is where Kidslox comes in.

Starting to use Kidslox - a Parental Control App

Kidslox is an application available for iOS and Android devices that allows you to limit the time and access to other applications on the tablet or smart phone. This is very useful if your child doesn’t have their own device to play with, and are constantly wanting to have a go on yours.

As we all know, there are plenty of apps and games available through app stores that are aimed at children with their favourite brands and characters bought to life at the end of their finger tips. Kidslox basically acts as a safeguard against little ones accessing applications or content that you don’t want them to have access to. You can download their favourite games and once it’s activated and set up, you can give your child free reign of your device without fear of them seeing something unsuitable, inappropriate for their age or even downloading extra content that would normally be paid for via an in app purchase.

Kidslox works in conjunction with the internationally recognised Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rating system. ESRB assigns age and content ratings for video games and mobile apps, enforces advertising and marketing guidelines for the video game industry, and helps companies implement responsible online and mobile privacy practices. In short, if the industry recommends that a certain app is suitable for a certain age group, Kidslox picks up on the age rating and will let you decide if it is suitable for your child.

Kidslox will also let you have the final say as to whether or not you think your child should have access to a particular app, regardless of the ESRB rating. You can tell Kidslox to allow access to whatever apps are installed on your device. This is also true for any other app that may be installed on your device. You could let your child have full internet browser access or make Kidslox filter out inappropriate websites or contents, such as video, chat sites, app stores, social media etc… You could even lock out access to the camera if, like me, you find after just a few seconds in your child’s possession your devices memory is chock a block with selfies!

Kidslox also allows you to set a time limit as to when it’s restrictions come into force at a certain time or on a particular day. You can even use Kidslox to manage your child’s device remotely over the internet. Particularly useful if they are playing up for a babysitter and won’t give up their device!

Starting to use Kidslox - a Parental Control App

Kidslox is so easy to set up and now we’re up and running we’ll be using it more with the children over the next few months and will be letting you know how we get on – as well as telling you more about the extensive range of features available. For now, if you’d like to find out more just check out the Kidslox website – and you can even trial Kidslox for yourself with a 14 day free trial.

Bargain Buys for Busy Mums

*This is a collaborative post

Regular readers all know how much I love a bargain and love to save money on anything we buy. Over the years I have found many websites to help with my bargain hunting and my latest find is Bargain Buys For Busy Mums. This is so much more than a website – it’s a whole community and a Facebook group too.

13235509_10153494655131384_1031156047046747231_o

The Bargain Buys for Busy Mums Facebook group is a one stop shop for anyone with children who want to save money by getting the best deals, offers and discounts, voucher codes and freebies. It has over 300,000 members and is growing every single day.

Members share their bargains and these are then shared on the website in dedicated categories – each one featuring literally thousands of bargains! They also feature a Bargain of the Day on the Facebook group too which showcases the biggest bargain of each day from the group.

The original Bargain Buys For Busy Mums Facebook group (BB4BM) was set up over two years ago by Jody Leggett, a busy mum of one. It was somewhere for her to help other local mums find online bargains and deals. Within just 12 months it had reached 120,000 members and the website was created to make bargains accessible to everyone – whether they had Facebook or not and since then both the website and the Facebook group have continued to grow.

The Bargain Buys for Busy Mums website lets you subscribe to receive daily or monthly newsletters, full of the best bargains, chances to win and exclusives. It’s a great way to keep up to date and you can read example newsletters online too to make sure they’re right for you.

The Bargain Buys for Busy Mums website has a new feature that compares the prices of nappies to get the cheapest available. When the children were tiny I literally stockpiled nappies, buying them when they were on offer so this is such a great tool – and definitely one every parent could make use of! The two cheapest nappy types for each size are included in an easy to navigate table with links directly to the store – it couldn’t be easier, and it’s updated daily too.

Another aspect I love about Bargain Buys for Busy Mums is their very own blog. Such an eclectic mix of content from interviews to free dating sites, recipes and more in depth posts about ways to save money. It’s great to read when you have spare time and it’s a great resource to dip in and out of too.

I love saving money and try to save money on everything we buy so this community is fantastic – and I wish I’d found it sooner. It’s been around for two years and I know that it will be around for many more years to come. It’s easy to see that Bargain Buys for Busy Mums is an incredibly worthwhile and much valued resource – and the member feedback speaks for itself on the What Our Members Say page.

If you’re a member of just one Facebook group it should be Bargain Buys for Busy Mums – and it should be on your favourites too. Easily searchable, it should be your go-to place when looking to save money.

Never Forget a Birthday again with Gift Wink

logo1beta@2x

Have you ever forgotten a Birthday? I know I have, and since becoming a parent I seem to have more Birthdays to remember and yet forget so many more too. I have calendars, lists and everything else and yet I seem to still forget so many occasions. This is where Gift Wink comes in – the brand new birthday reminder and gift list service, all on one dedicated website.

Screen Shot 2016-06-09 at 10.01.44

Once registered with Gift Wink you are prompted to add birthday reminders for literally everyone you want to remember. You record their name, relationship to you, their date of birth, gender and even interests.

Screen Shot 2016-06-09 at 10.05.28

All the birthdays are then shown on a birthday calendar, in the order that they’ll need to be remembered and even showing gift suggestions. From here you can see click to see a full list of gift ideas and any wish lists that you’ve created too.

Screen Shot 2016-06-09 at 10.06.40

From the extensive range of Gift Wink gift ideas you can add things to wish lists for each person on your birthday calendar but also for yourself. I’ve had a great time browsing the Gift Link gift ideas and adding things to my own list.

Screen Shot 2016-06-09 at 10.11.59

The gift ideas on Gift Wink are all great quality gifts that are just a little bit different. They’re something individual, unique and nothing like the typical things you would find on the high street. Gift Wink makes it simple to buy gifts through the website and you know with each gift that you’re finding something perfect for the recipient and no doubt something that won’t already have either.

When buying gifts through Gift Wink you’re redirected to the retailer’s website for a seamless transaction. It would be great if, in time, you could add things to a basket on Gift Wink and then check out in one go but at least this way you get to experience the individual retailers too.

Gift Wink now reminds me of any upcoming birthdays and lets me shop for gifts at the same time – as well as putting together wish lists too. It’s the perfect platform for gift inspiration as well as reminders and is definitely a service I will be using going forward – anything that makes life easier is a good thing for me, especially as it works well on mobile too!
