Review: Bigjigs Green Toys Build-a-Bouquet

It’s no secret that we are huge Bigjigs fans and have always loved their wooden toys but we also really like their range of Green Toys, toys that are made of durable and hard wearing plastic that is safe, non-toxic; contains no BPA, PVC, phthalates or external coatings – as good as any toy can be! We were recently sent the Green Toys Build-a-Bouquet to review and as it’s aimed at age 2+ I thought both LP and Little Man would enjoy playing with it.

The Build-a-Bouquet comes in one compact box with one cardboard insert and no fastenings, tape or anything else – I wish all toys were packaged so simply. It also came with a storage box that I wasn’t expecting but that I really appreciate – it’s always hard to find ways to store toys so the storage box is a great addition.

Inside the Build-a-Bouquet set there are four base pieces and then a mixture of forty stem and flower pieces which all stack easily onto each other. Little Man could stack the pieces with ease and needing no help or guidance. He immediately knew what to do with the toy and it made it such a joy to watch him and LP both playing with the flowers at the same time.

LP showed me instantly how much play value there would be with the Build-a-Bouquet. Where Little Man was happy to sit and stack the flowers into a nice bouquet like intended, LP was more keen to build a stack of flowers as high as she could – calling them fairy stairs!

I was impressed with the amount of pieces that you get in the Build-a-Bouquet set and I love that Little Man and LP can both play together without running out of pieces. Each piece is also well made, durable and could be played with outside as well as indoors – a great toy for the coming summer months.

Build-a-Bouquet really helps improve fine motor skills and has helped Little Man’s coordination no end as well helping LP learn to problem solve, deciding which flower piece needs to be put on next. We have loved the Bigjigs Green Toys Build-a-Bouquet and I know it will be played with for a long time to come. It also looks great left on the side once made into a bouquet so we always have pretty flowers to look at whatever the weather!

The Build-a-Bouquet has an RRP of £20.99

Disclosure: We were sent the above product for the purpose of this review however all opinions are my own.
