The Baby Show ExCel London Review

Disclosure: We were invited on this day out for the purpose of this post however all opinions are my own.

On Sunday I went to The Baby Show with two lovely friends who are expecting their first baby. I left the kids at home with Daddy and drove us to ExCel for the show – which was a lot better than I’d expected, taking us 1.5hrs ish and only costing £15 for the day to park, so much cheaper and easier than the train and so easy to take all our shopping back with us!

I’ve been to The Baby Show parenting event a few times now but this is the first I have been to since having children and not had a child with me. It was a great experience! I was able to take in all the stands at the show without being distracted. This meant I could focus on the show completely although the creche could help with that anyway! The baby shows happen twice a year and the London show is always at either Excel or Olympia London.

Why should we go to the Baby Show?

My friends hadn’t really purchased anything for their baby yet and so The Baby Show was a great opportunity for them. As first time parents they could look at all the options available. One thing we did find was that prices for the same thing varied massively across the show. A Chicco bedside crib for £160 – full price – on the Chicco stand with no movement on price but a basic baby monitor thrown in or £120 after all show offers and discounts at Babies R Us! BARGAIN! Babies R Us turned out to be one of the best stands for a bargain and because of that it was incredibly busy. This is to be expected on the final day of the show.

What are the brands like at the show?

There were products for all budgets at the show. From the bargain travel systems that Joie had to offer all the way up to designer pushchairs over £1k a piece. Something for everyone! In the end my friends made a beautiful purchase after some deliberation and amazing customer service over on the Cosatto stand. The baby has a new set of wheels on the way!

What is at the Baby Show?

The Baby Show has so much to offer for new and expectant parents. It has a huge amount of advice as well as a shop and drop service that we made good use of. There’s a creche and loads of places to sit down and have a drink or relax. Every time I go to The Baby Show I buy one of the Prima Baby & Pregnancy Goodie Bags. This show’s bag was fantastic with products from pregnancy right through to toddlerhood – all for £3! There were also stands giving away free nappies, Cow & Gate pouches, baby bottles and more. The freebies were flowing at this year’s London show!

We had such a great day and are already talking about visiting Birmingham in May. I love The Baby Show and I love seeing all the new products that appear each time we visit. I love seeing familiar favourites too – like Ewan the Dream Sheep. He not surprisingly sold out before the end of the last day of the baby event.

If you’re pregnant, have a baby or are thinking about having a baby in the not too distant future then The Baby Show at Excel would be a great way to spend a day. You’ll see so much and end up exhausted. But you’ll come away with a head full of ideas and a much lighter purse!
